It was a week of mixed results for former Muskie Chelsea Kabatay and the rest of the Rainy River Community College Voyageurs women’s volleyball team.
The squad split its four games, winning both matches last Wednesday before dropping both on Saturday.
RRCC (4-6) started with a sweep of Gogebic Community College, winning by scores of 25-19, 25-23, and 25-22.
Kabatay had an impressive 12 kills while also recording five digs.
The squad followed that up by also sweeping Vermilion CC later that day (25-19, 25-18, and 25-18).
Kabatay registered five kills and 10 digs in that one.
It was a different story on Saturday, though, as the Voyageurs began by getting swept by the Northland CTC Pioneers (18-25, 19-25, and 13-25).
Kabatay had just three kills and four digs in a losing effort.
RRCC then wrapped up the week later that day by also getting swept by the Central Lakes Raiders (13-25, 12-25, and 23-25), with Kabatay registering six kills and three digs in that one.
The Voyageurs were slated to face Mesabi Range CTC yesterday, with the outcome not known as of press time.
Then they’ll cap the week by visiting the Itasca CC Vikings this Saturday (Sept. 29) in a noon start.
