Royals, Bulldogs to meet in fastball final

The Rainy River Royals will meet the Bulldogs in the final of the Rainy River District Fastball League playoffs on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Rainy River.
If the Royals win, they’ll be crowned champs. But if the Bulldogs win, that will force another game between the two next Thursday in Couchichiching—winner take all.
Under the double-knockout playoff format, the Bulldogs (with one loss already under their belts) would have to beat the undefeated Royals twice.
The Royals, who had finished atop the RRDFL standings after the regular season, advanced to Tuesday’s final with a 4-2 win over Sight and Sound on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs stayed alive with a 12-7 win over Barwick.
The Bulldogs, the six-time defending RRDFL champs, had their backs to the wall after losing their first playoff game 5-4 to Pinewood, but they haven’t lost since.
