The Fort Frances Badminton Club will be hosting its annual invitational tournament this Friday to Sunday (March 27-29) at Fort High.
Action opens Friday from 7-10 p.m. with singles matches, then continues all Saturday from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. with more singles’ and doubles’ action.
A social will follow that evening at the Little Beaver Snow Park.
Sunday’s matches will feature mixed doubles from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Club coach Manami Alexander said 137 participants already have signed up, which would set a tournament record for attendance in the 10 years Alexander has been hosting it.
There will be 41 local players in the field, with other competitors coming from as far east as Thunder Bay to as far west as Winnipeg.
“This is known as the biggest and most fun badminton tournament in Northwestern Ontario,” Alexander enthused.
