Press Release
RBC and the Fort Frances Minor Hockey Association have announced the start of the RBC “Play Hockey” equipment drive here.
The FFMHA has been selected as the RBC “Play Hockey” equipment dive recipient in Fort Frances for 2011.
Donations of gently-used skates, helmets, pads, and other hockey equipment are being accepted at the local RBC (343 Scott St.) from Oct. 17-28.
Members of the community are invited to drop off their equipment to help ensure all members of the FFMHA have the equipment they need.
“RBC is proud to partner with Fort Frances Minor Hockey Association to help kids play hockey this season by providing equipment that they may not otherwise easily access,” said local branch manager Heather Johnson.
“We applaud Fort Frances Minor Hockey Association’s hard work and dedication that helps make hockey happen and makes a difference in our community,” she added.
“This is a great opportunity for gently-used equipment to be passed to other families for re-use,” noted FFMHA president Wayne Strachan.
“We are pleased to work with RBC and the community to reduce barriers for young hockey players.
“It’s a win-win situation for all,” he enthused.
RBC has been involved in hockey at both the community and national level since 1947.
Through the skate and equipment drive, we recognize the importance of supporting and protecting the development of hockey.
RBC is committed to helping to build and encourage hockey at all levels—from the ground up.
