After winning the PeeWee tournament in Baudette, the Emo Panthers were no match against Rainy River, coming out on the short end of a 3-1 score.
Kevin Norberg (Rainy River) and Daniel Hettinga (Emo) exchanged goals in the second period but it was all Rainy River in the third as Jason Seguin and Alex Matthew netted goals to ice the win.
In PeeWee ‘AA’ action, the Emo Predators put it together against visiting the International Falls Broncos, blanking their opponents 4-0 on goals by Tyler Barker, Kyle McTavish, Shawn Makinson, and David Pollard.
In Novice action, Andrew Maki scored with just two second left on the clock to lift West End Motors (Fort Frances) to a 2-2 tie with the Emo Wings.
Tyler Harris also scored for the Fort while Jordan Davis netted both Emo markers.
tagg’s (Fort Frances) also scored a late goal to earn a 2-2 tie with Emo OPP. Boileau scored both tagg’s markers while John Roulston and Riley Caul replied for the OPP.
Meanwhile, two Fort Frances teams–the B•Macs and Legion–hooked up in a Midget contest last week at the Emo Arena, with the B•Macs coming away with a 4-1 win.
Ottertail (two), T. Rose, and C. Hayward scored for the B•Macs while Matt Bahr got the Legion’s lone tally.
