In a request circulated this past week, The Rainy River Curling Club outlined its hopes for this season’s use of its facilities. They are looking for volunteer community members to organize Leagues for the season and rent ice time from the RRCC. Ice is to be available from December through mid-March, depending on weather.
Format of the Leagues is open but an overall commitment of $12,000 in ice rentals for the season is required for the Club to open. Rental fees have been set at $200 for each 3 hour period and participants would all be required to pay the $40 annual RRCC membership fee. Bar rental service will also be available.
All fees must be paid in full prior to the start of the season and there will be no refunds if the facility must suspend operation due to COVID-19 restrictions. Noting its long term strong partnership with Community members the Club is urging volunteers to book their proposed league activities by Nov 13, 2020.
Those interested in further financially supporting the Club may make tax deductible donations by contacting the RRCC, Box 534, Rainy River, On, POW 1L0 or calling Melissa Jenson, 807-276-2918 or Dawn Beyak, 204-799-4991 or on the Club’s Facebook Page.
