Racing Season is Getting into Gear

Welcome back to a full season of racing action at the Emo Speedway! Like for so many of us in the region, Mother Nature has unfortunately put a damper on the start of our season. That being said, weather permitting the drivers will be returning to action starting this Saturday, May 28th with Hot Laps at 7pm and Racing at 7:30pm! After the long off season many drivers are itching to get to the track, even going so far as to travel multiple hours away over the last few weeks to go racing at other tracks in the area.

The quiet off season gives drivers, teams and even the race cars a chance to recoup and relax, whether that is staying inside and keeping warm, enjoying one of the many great winter activities our area offers, or in the case of the cars; new suspension parts or even an engine. Every team has a different off season routine when it comes to preparing for the next one to begin. Some teams take their time over many weeks throughout the winter and have a meticulous and methodical rebuild of the car, while others may have a last minute thrash in the few days before the race season begins. No matter the driver and teams style, everyone is anxious for the new season to start.

Despite no race cars on track, the volunteers of the Emo Speedway have already been hard at work preparing the facilities for race fans and teams alike. However more help is always needed to keep the facility running smoothly. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering a little bit of time please reach out to one of the Borderland Racing Association board members or contact the track through social media. Stay tuned to the Emo Speedway Facebook page or www.borderlandracing.com for any updates and schedule changes, and I can’t wait to see you all at the races!
