Quiet week for Emo minor hockey

In a light week on the Emo minor hockey circuit, Emo Gillons’ stopped the visiting Kentucky Colonels (Fort Frances) 4-1 in PeeWee action.
Tied 1-1 after one, Gillons’ scored once in the second and then iced the game with two third-period markers.
Craig McTavish, Scott Galusha, Matt Redford, and Jamie DeGagne all scored for Emo while Tanner Ward netted the Colonels’ lone counter.
Meanwhile, in Atom action, the Emo Selects skated to a 5-3 victory over visiting Gillons’ (Fort Frances).
After a scoreless first period, both teams scored once in the second before Emo pulled away in the final frame.
Eric Soucy led the Selects with a pair of goals while Jeremy Caul, Brian Wayash, and Tyson Romyn added singles. Danny Chapman (two) and Jerome Tuesday replied for Gillons’.
In related news, the EDBMHA windup is planned Friday, March 31, starting with a potluck and followed by trophy presentations to each player of each division.
Two memorial plaques also will be presented.
