Public invited to meet hockey legends

Press Release

This Sunday (Feb. 28), more than a dozen former NHL and Olympic hockey players, managers, and coaches will gather at the Thunderbird Lodge on Rainy Lake for the first-ever event of its kind in Minnesota.
The Minnesota Hockey Legends “meet-and-greet” will begin at noon and is open to the public.
The group slated to appear (schedule permitting) includes John Mayasich, Dick Dougherty, Neil Sheehy, Mike “Lefty” Curran, Gordy Christian, Roger Christian, Dan McKinnon, Jack McCarton, Keith “Huffer” Christensen, Willard Ikola, Buzzy Schneider, Ron Beck, Tim Sheehy, and Jim Claypool.
There will be a silent auction, activities for kids, and raffles. The U.S. Hockey Mobile Hall of Fame also will be on display the entire afternoon.
As well, watch the original footage of past U.S. Olympic gold-medal games from the 1960s and 1980s. And watch history unfold as the 2010 gold-medal game is broadcast live from Vancouver.
All proceeds will benefit the International Falls rec hockey program.
