Fort Frances Aquanauts Donovan Taylor and Adam Stromberg came away with medals around their necks at the 2011 Short Course Provincial Championships last weekend in Nepean (near Ottawa).
Participating in his first-ever provincial swim meet, Stromberg earned silver in the boy’s 12-and-under 50m freestyle event.
He also nabbed bronze in the 100m free.
Meanwhile, having become the first local swimmer to medal at a national event in London the previous weekend, Taylor struck gold in the 200m I.M. on Saturday.
His time once again cracked the minimum needed to qualify for the senior nationals.
Taylor also captured silver in the 200m butterfly to go along with a bronze in the 200m backstroke.
The 16-year-old now is representing Fort High at the OFSAA championships in Etobicoke this week.
