The seesaw battle between Mini-Sprint drivers Ken Perry and Kyle Ridlon was among the highlights of weekly stock car racing action Saturday night at the Emo Speedway.
Ridlon, who trailed Perry by just six points in the overall division standings coming into Saturday’s action, took the checkered flag over Perry in the heat.
But in the feature race, Perry showed his leading ways by winning when the points were on the line—increasing his season points lead to seven with a total of 408.
Perry is in second with 401.
In other action, Steve Arpin took the modified feature after winning the second heat.
The win vaulted Arpin into seventh place (222 points) in the division standings—well back of leader Vic Larson (435), who has a commanding 47-point lead over second-place driver Dan Galloway (388).
In the street stock division, heat one winner Bill Witherspoon later took the checkered flag in the feature—earning 57 points and taking over 10th spot in the standings.
Ron Westover—the division leader with 455 points—crossed the line in sixth place and increased his previous week’s lead of four points to seven over Denny Trimble.
