PeeWee Canadians finish fifth

Despite compiling a 3-1 record, the Fort Frances PeeWee ‘AA’ Canadians had to settle for a fifth-place finish at a tournament in Detroit Lakes.
After opening with a 4-2 triumph against the Fargo Angels, the Canadians followed that up with a 3-1 victory over the Northern Lakes Lightning on Saturday.
But it was a penalty-filled affair which cost the Canadians a point in the standings.
Then in their second game Saturday, the Canadians jumped out to an early 3-0 lead against Moorhead.
But some defensive miscues saw Moorhead roar back to steal a 5-4 win.
On Sunday, the Canadians wrapped up the tournament with a 3-2 triumph over West Fargo, with goals coming from Noah Loveday, Cole Tymkin, and Chase McGuire.
