PeeWee ‘AAA’

The Northwestern Ontario PeeWee ‘AAA’ rep squad—consisting of seven local Knights of Columbus ‘AA’ players—didn’t score a goal all weekend but they still earned a berth to the provincial finals next month.
The PeeWees were swept in their best-of-three series against the Thunder Bay Kings in Kenora, losing 7-0 on Friday and then 4-0 on Saturday.
But because of a no-show by the Thunder Bay East team (representing the Red Rock and Marathon areas), the PeeWees earned the second provincial berth up for grabs.
Seven teams will vie for the provincial crown April 1-6 in Thunder Bay.
Local KCs on the regional team include centres Tyler Miller and Eric Soucy, wingers Paul Dobransky and Brian White, and defencemen Danny Chapman, Tyson Kadikoff, and Kevin Plett.
In related news, all three local ‘AA’ hockey teams will be in action this weekend.
The KCs and Taggs (Bantams) will finish their seasons at the Assiniboine Park Ranger tournament in Winnipeg while the Sunset Country Ford Mustangs (Atoms) will hit the ice at the Elk’s Classic in Thunder Bay.
The Mustangs will have one more tournament in Minneapolis next month to wrap up their season.
