Parent earns bronze medal

Alex Parent yesterday captured his second medal at the Canada Games in Regina, claiming bronze in the 100-m breaststroke event with a time of 1:32:07.
Quebec swimmer Jean-Francois Desbiens was the fastest in the eight-person field, posting a time of 1:23:87.
Parent also raced the 100-m butterfly event yesterday, placing fifth. The Fort Frances product clocked a time of 1:18:24—missing the podium by just over a second.
British Columbia’s Aaron Schlechter won in a time of 1:08:75.
Parent, who is competing in a total of six events in the SWAD division (swimmers with disabilities) at the Canada Games, had won gold in the 100-m freestyle event Tuesday morning.
His results in Regina are being closely monitored by Canada’s national team coaches.
