The Emo Panthers hosted the Fort Frances Lions in PeeWee action last week and skated away with a 6-2 win, netting four goals in the third period to ice the game.
Daniel Hettinga tallied four times for the home team while J.J. Landry and Josh Mann added singles. T. Shannon and Terry Kellar scored for the Lions.
Meanwhile, the Emo Cowboys lassoed the Emo Predators by a 7-1 count on the strength of four goals by Jeff Friesen.
Donald Kellar added two for the victors while Joel Wilson notched the other goal. Tyler Barker replied for the Cowboys late in the third period.
Other PeeWee action saw visiting Rainy River earn a 6-5 win against Emo Gillons’ on a goal by Ryan O’Connor with 13 seconds to play.
Jason Sequin (two), Alex Matthew, Blake Mykytyn, and Mitch Gouliquer also scored for Rainy River. Jeff Hyatt (two), Jeremy Hyatt, Mitch Mosher, and Curtis Galusha replied for Emo.
In Atom action, the visiting MEC Bulldogs (Fort Frances) doubled the Emo Leafs 4-2 on goals by Kurt Carlson (two), Mike Shoemaker, and Pierre Jourdain.
Nathan DeGagne and Ryan York scored for the Leafs.
But the Leafs had better luck against Gillons’ (Fort Frances), edging the visitors 2-1 on Craig McTavish’s unassisted tally midway through the second.
Travis Wolframe scored Emo’s other marker in the first, with Fort Frances tying the game a minute later on Sean Wiersema’s solo effort.
