Father-son runners Lorne and Rick Ricard hit the streets at the Winnipeg Police Service half-marathon on Sunday.
The elder Ricard showed he still can run at a solid pace—clocking in at 1:36.38 over the 21-km course to place second in the male age 60-65 category.
He was 73rd overall out of 1,290 runners.
“That’s a pretty good time for me,” Ricard noted.
Rick, meanwhile, finished in 1:42.41 to claim 15th spot in the male age 30-35 division and 131st overall.
The pair next will run in the Fargo (N.D.) Marathon on May 22.
Then they’ll head back to Winnipeg for the annual Manitoba Marathon on Father’s Day (June 19).
