Two members of the Border Figure Skating Club have advanced to the Skate Ontario STARSkate Provincial/Skate Ontario Adult Championships being held March 16-18 in Kingston.
Samantha Halliday booked her spot by finishing fourth in the STAR 6 women’s event with a score of 24.16 points at the Skate Ontario Championships Qualifying series that was held March 5 in Thunder Bay.
Montana Plasky also advanced by placing seventh in the STAR 8 women’s event, accumulating a total of 28.76 points.
“Each skater during the 2017/18 season chose two competitions to skate in order to qualify,” noted Sandra Halliday, Samantha’s mother.
“The Thunder Bay results were the ones that actually qualified them to move on to the all-Ontarios.”
