One-Hit Wonders on fire

Staff

A week off did not stifle the momentum of One Hit Wonders, but actually fuelled it.
The Fort Frances Women’s Volleyball League leaders returned to action with a vengeance after all but one match was postponed Jan. 29 due to final exams at Fort High.
Coming off a maximum six-point outing the previous week, the Wonders picked up where they left off with two-straight six-point outings on Feb. 5 and 12.
Their potent play of late has them atop the standings with 94 points—well clear of second-place Kiss My Pass (72), who had to default their matches last Thursday.
Defending champs Scared Hitless took advantage of that by also earning six points last week to move within striking distance of Kiss My Pass with 68.
No Diggity sits in fourth place (64) while Spiked Punch is fifth (58).
Let’s Talk About Sets reeled in five points last week to tie for sixth with Bump it Up (56).
Gillons’ Northerners are eighth (50), well ahead of ninth-place Wild Sets (33), 10th-place Rockstars (31), and 11th-place Sloppy Sets (19).
I’d Hit That garnered three points last week but still sits in last place (11).
Action resumes tonight at 7 p.m. at Fort High and St. Michael’s.
