The local Novice Timbits girls’ hockey team travelled to Kenora and came home with gold medals for their effort.
The team wrapped up a perfect 4-0 tournament record with a 3-2 shootout victory over Emo in the final.
Kelsey Langtry scored the shootout winner while Annalise Hayes netted both goals in regulation time.
Hayes led the way with 22 goals in four games while Macy Weir chipped in three. Brianna Eldridge, Meghan DeGagne, Callie DeGagne, and McKenna Watson each netted singles over the course of the tournament.
Taylor Steinke was stellar in goal throughout the tournament.
The squad, coached by Pete Ladrew and Pat Langtry, beat Kenora “Red” 7-0, Kenora “Black” 9-4, and Kenora “White” 10-3 to reach the final against Emo.
