No wins yet for Centra


It’s been a tough start to the season for Centra Pipelines.
A 4-1 loss to CJ Contracting (2-2) on Monday night left the squad with an 0-4 record in the three-team men’s division of the Borderland Soccer League.
Ian Jodoin’s hat trick ultimately was too much overcome for Centra as CJ nabbed its second win of the season.
Kevin Metke had the other marker for CJ while Alex Gustafson earned the win between the pipes.
Lucas Koomans netted the lone goal for Centra, with Tyler Hamm suffered the loss in goal.
Manitou Forest Products downed Centra 3-1 last Wednesday night to improve its league-leading record to 4-0.
Goal scorers and keepers from that game were unconfirmed as of press time.
CJ and Manitou were slated to face each other tonight.
In women’s division action, La Place Rendez-Vous (1-0-1) picked up its first win of the season with a 3-1 triumph over Al’s Racquet Stringing (0-1-1) last Tuesday night.
Jaida Norris scored twice while Laureen Peters also bulged the twine for the Vous.
Claire Hyatt, Tianna Veldhuisen, Claire Sobkowicz, and Kayli Machura shared keeper duties.
Natalie Desjardins got the lone goal for Al’s while Phyllis Pierson suffered the loss between the pipes.
