The local Northern Lights School of Skating had five of its StarSkaters participate in the Thunder Bay Super Series Competition back on March 1-2, with great results.
Hallee Nugent placed third in the STAR 5 Free Skate 13-and-over category.
She also wound up fourth in STAR 6 Elements and Bronze Interpretive, entertaining the audience while skating to the theme, “A Diverse Athlete.”
Jordyn Seguin finished fourth in STAR 4 category element and fifth in the STAR 4 Free Skate 13-and-over category.
She also participated in the STAR 3 Team Event with Whitney Williamson, where they earned an overall Gold Assessment with straight golds.
Mya Scott-Thompson nabbed fifth spot in the Star 5 Free Skate 13-and-over category, along with finishing sixth in STAR 6 Elements.
Reece MacNeil took third in STAR 7 Elements while also winding up eighth in the STAR 7 women’s short program.
“This is her last competition as she is graduating this year,” noted NLSS director/owner Ashley Cumming.
“We wish her the best of luck in her post-secondary studies next year.”
MacNeil, Scott-Thompson, and Nugent each also participated in the STAR 6 Team Event, where they finished fourth.
“The girls had a great weekend and it was a nice finish to our competitive season,” Cumming enthused.
“We had a very successful first season and are looking forward to exhibiting all the skating talents from our Learn-to-Skate, STARSkate, and CanPowerSkate programs on Saturday, March 23 at 2 p.m. at ‘The Duke’ [Couchiching Arena],” she added.
Cumming invited everybody to “come support our local skaters!”
