Nine Lakers named all-stars

The SIJHL has announced the rosters for its upcoming all-star game and skills competition, which is slated for Wednesday, Nov. 28 at the Ice For Kids Arena.
The game once again will feature a Canada vs. U.S.A. format made up of players from both countries from the six SIJHL member clubs.
Each roster was finalized following voting by the coaches and managers from league clubs, as well as from each teams’ play-by-play broadcaster on
Both squads feature 20 players–12 forwards, six defencemen, and two goalies.
Of those 20, nine were selected from the Fort Frances Lakers.
Representing Team Canada from the Lakers are forwards Kirk Coppock and Brett Hahkala and defencemen Dane Bateman and MacKenzie Flett.
On the American side, defencemen Anthony Atonelli and Nate Drobnick were chosen from the Lakers, as were forwards Nick Lucas, Jaedin Ness, and Chase Robideau.
The rest of the Canadian contingent features forwards Trey Palermo (Dryden GM Ice Dogs), Jacob Siebenga (Ice Dogs), Cameron Coutre (Ice Dogs), Michael Di Lullo (Red Lake Miners), Bryce Young (Miners), Spencer Milne (Miners), Brett Piper (Thief River Falls Norskies), Ryan Mignault (Thunder Bay North Stars), Keighan Gerrie (North Stars), and Brendan Gillis (North Stars).
On defence will be Cole Bohnet (Miners), Connor Bowey (Norskies), Kyle Auger (North Stars), and Robert McCollum (North Stars) while Zach Willms (Miners) and Brock Aiken (North Stars) are the goalies.
Making up the rest of Team U.S.A. are forwards Braden Shea (Ice Dogs), Eric Stout (Ice Dogs), Lukas Lundgren (Iron Rangers), Garrett Wojcicki (Minnesota Iron Rangers), Aaron Koivunen (Iron Rangers), Bryce Johnson (Norskies), Boe Bjorge (Norskies), Alec Daman (Norskies), and Blake Nelson (Norskies).
On defence will be Cam Birkeland (Iron Rangers), Alec Severson (Norskies), Jake Eischen (Norskies), and Zach Ross (Norskies), with Bailey Schmitz (Norskies) and Nick Corneliusen (Iron Rangers) as the goalies.
Those selected also will take part in the skills competition, which will be held prior to the game.

Tickets cost $12 for adults, $8 for students, and $5 for children.
The skills event begins at 6 p.m., followed by the game at 7:30.
Coaching staffs for both teams will be announced in the coming days, as will the names of the officials chosen to work the game.
