It was made-for-TV stuff—even if there were no cameras around.
A pair of heart-pounding finishes were the story in the Fort Frances Men’s Basketball League last Monday (Jan. 27) as both games came down to the final minute.
Josh Mastin’s buzzer-beater capped a phenomenal outing for the sharpshooter as La Place Rendez-Vous eked out a 101-99 win over the Muskies.
Mastin was unstoppable all the game in netting 60 points—the top scoring output of any individual so far this season.
Top scorers for the Muskies were unavailable at press time.
Then in the late game, Boston Pizza fended off a late Taggs’ rally to earn a 68-63 victory.
Taggs stayed in the game based mainly on the work of Jacob Macintosh, who led the squad with 27 points.
Top scorers for Boston Pizza were unavailable at press time.
Action resumes tonight at Fort High with the Muskies facing Taggs at 6:30 p.m.
The late game features Boston Pizza versus the Vous at 8 p.m.
