Neither rain nor snow nor sleet nor hail will keep Northern Ontario from its appointed poundings.
The rink skipped by Thunder Bay’s Ron Rosengren, with Devlin native Jenna Enge at second, won twice yesterday to improve to 6-0 at the 49th Canadian Postal Employees Curling Classic in Winnipeg.
Northern Ontario won its third-straight six-end game with a 9-2 thrashing of Manitoba yesterday morning.
But then against Nova Scotia in the afternoon, Rosengren needed to make his last shot in the eighth and final end for a 5-4 victory.
Northern Ontario was two games up on second-place Alberta and Ontario (4-2) heading into today’s action.
They faced Alberta this morning, then took on P.E.I. (1-5) this afternoon.
Northern Ontario closes out round-robin play tomorrow against the Yukon-Northwest Territories and then Ontario.
The playoffs begin Thursday, with the semi-final and final set for Friday.
