The local Sunset Country Ford Atom ‘AA’ Mustangs are starting to make a habit of winning tournaments, going undefeated over the weekend at the Lake of the Woods Squirt ‘A’ invitational tournament in Baudette.
The Mustangs dumped Warroad 6-1 in the ‘A’ final yesterday to claim their third tourney title of the season.
Taylor Jorgenson, Jordan Davis, Mike Jourdain, Mitchell Cain, Kyle Turgeon, and Matt DePiero scored in the final while Ryan Faragher earned the win between the pipes.
The Mustangs had earned wins over Warroad (7-2), Lake of the Woods (12-0), and Bemidji (5-2) in pool play to advance to the ‘A’ final.
Jorgenson led the Mustangs’ attack with six goals over the weekend, followed by Cain with five. Turgeon had a team-high five assists.
