The four Muskie court teams wrapped up their NorWOSSA regular-season schedule here Tuesday afternoon against the Dryden Eagles, with the junior girls’ basketball team being the lone victors.
Their 38-33 win was the squad’s seventh-straight, giving the black-and-gold a 7-1 record in league play and a bye into the NorWOSSA final, which goes next Thursday in Dryden.
Meanwhile, the senior hoopsters were not as fortunate in their season-finale, falling 43-25 to the visiting Eagles.
The loss left the Muskies with a 2-6 mark and in third place.
The squad’s opponent in the semi-final game next Thursday in Dryden hinges on the outcome of today’s game between the Eagles and visiting Kenora Broncos.
On the volleyball courts, both the Muskie senior and junior boys finished the regular season with identical 3-5 records, and now are set to face the Broncos in their respective NorWOSSA semi-final matches next week.
The juniors pushed the league-leading Eagles to the limit here Tuesday but ended up losing in five sets (25-22, 20-25, 28-26, 13-25, and 13-15).
The senior squad fell to top-ranked Dryden in four sets (18-25, 25-19, 13-25, and 4-25).
