Muskies win one at OFSAA


It was a day of mixed results for the Muskie senior girls’ volleyball team at the OFSAA ‘AA’ girls’ volleyball championship in Kingsville yesterday.

The Muskies opened Pool ‘D’ play yesterday afternoon with a 2-1 win (26-24, 17-25 and 15-11) over Eden High School (St. Catharines) before then falling in straight sets to St. Joseph’s (Barrie) later in the day.

The set scores in that one were 22-25/17-25.

The Muskies (1-2) then faced face Nelson (Burlington) this morning, where they again lost in straight sets by scores of 16-25/17-25.

Fort High was slated to wrap up pool play this afternoon against Port Perry, with the outcome not known as of press time.

The consolation and championship side quarterfinals are set for this evening with the semifinals for both sides to go tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. (CST).

The consolation final then will take place at noon, with the Bronze-Medal match to follow at 2 p.m. while the Gold-Medal Game is set for 4 p.m.
