The Muskie boys’ hockey team got off to a fine start at a tournament in Brandon, Man. last night.
Tyson McLean led the way with two goals as the black-and-gold dumped the Morden Thunder 8-2.
Nolan Ross, Brendan Cawston, Nick Kaun. Jeff Gustafson, Davis Ross, and game MVP Colton Spicer added singles.
Devin Stromness earned the win between the pipes.
The Muskies will face off with Sturgeon Heights today to complete group play, while the tournament wraps up Sunday.
The Muskies then will play their NorWOSSA home-opener on Tuesday (Dec. 7) when Dryden comes to town.
The game starts at 7:15 p.m. in the Ice For Kids Arena.
Meanwhile, the Muskie girls will get back in the swing of things tonight when they host Kenora at 7:15 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena.
The team also is holding its annual “Teddy Bear Toss” in support of the local Salvation Army, where fans are encouraged to throw a new stuffed toy on the ice when the Muskies score their first goal.
Fans also are being asked to bring along a box of cereal tonight to donate to the Salvation Army’s food drive.
