The Muskie senior girls’ volleyball team attended the Winter Blast volleyball tournament in Kenora January 10/11.
The Muskies played two round robin 3 set matches on Friday. The muskies defeated the Sioux Lookout Warriors by scores of 25-18, 25-20 and 25-9. Next, the girls faced the Red Lake Rams and again won all three sets by scores of 25-6, 25-21 and 25-11. The muskies finished round robin play in first place and earned a bye to the semi-finals once again against Sioux Lookout. This was a close match with the muskies losing the first set, 18-25, battling back to win the second set, 29-27 and winning the match with a 15-9 final set. The muskies faced off in the championship match against the Beaver Brae Broncos. The girls controlled this match winning the tournament in a best of three match in two straight sets with scores of 25-20 and 25-21.
In league play the Muskies are currently 8-0 with their final league game February 4th at home. The Norwossa finals are in Fort Frances Friday February 14th.
