Ashley Croswell scored a season-high 14 points to pace the Muskie senior girls’ basketball squad to a 55-21 rout over the Kenora Broncos in NorWOSSA action here Tuesday.
Claire Hyatt added 11 points for Fort High (5-0), which tightened its grip on first place and also won its 25th-straight league game.
Meanwhile, the junior Muskies (5-0) were even less hospitable to the Broncos, using a 21-0 first quarter to fuel a commanding 55-13 triumph.
Kenora (0-5) didn’t score a point until Macey Witzke’s jumper with 4:10 left in the second quarter—a span of more than 14 minutes.
Jyllian Westover led the Muskie attack with 12 points.
In boys’ volleyball action, the junior Muskies (5-0) got a better test from the Broncos (1-4) than they’ve seen all season but still came away with a 3-1 victory (25-21, 25-23, 23-25, and 25-20).
The senior Muskies (5-0) swept the visiting Broncos (0-5) by a 3-0 margin (25-11, 25-22, and 25-21).
The Muskie senior girls’ squad heads to Thunder Bay this weekend for the Westgate Tigers Fall Classic.
Then all four teams will resume NorWOSSA action this Tuesday in Dryden.
