It was a successful day for two of the four Muskie court sports teams Tuesday in Dryden.
Both the senior and junior girls’ basketball teams came away victorious while both boys’ volleyball squads stumbled.
The senior hoopsters led the host Eagles 32-27 at halftime before cruising to a 63-51 win to improve to 2-1 in NorWOSSA play.
Jamie Spencer scored a team-high 23 points while Grace Petsnick added 19 and Ellie Petsnick had 14.
The juniors, meanwhile, used a 10-point performance from Justine Linklater to roll to a 44-19 rout of the Eagles and also improve to 2-1 in league play.
Tatum Glowasky netted seven points while Joanna Empey and Keisha Debungie each added six.
In boys’ volleyball action, the seniors remained winless on the season (0-3) with a 3-1 loss to the Eagles.
The set scores were 27-25, 24-26, 19-25, and 15-25.
The juniors also were on the wrong end of the scoresheet, suffering their first lost of the season (2-1) after falling in straight sets.
Set scores were 17-25, 19-25, and 16-25.
All four court sports teams were slated to be in action again today when they hosted the Kenora Broncos at Fort High.
The junior squads were to play at noon, with the seniors to follow at 1:30 p.m.
