The four Muskie court teams batted .500 against Kenora in NorWOSSA action Tuesday.
The senior girls’ basketball team (5-1) rebounded from its first loss of the season by cruising to a 28-13 victory over the Broncos.
The juniors (2-4), meanwhile, struggled offensively en route to a 16-6 defeat.
Head coach Dan Bird said the teams were tied 6-6 at the break, but the Broncos pulled away in the second half.
On the volleyball court, the junior boys’ squad improved to 5-1 with a four-set win by scores of 25-21, 23-25, 25-14, and 25-14.
But the senior boys (2-4) fell in four sets.
After dropping the first two sets by scores of 27-25 and 25-20, the black-and-gold won the third one 25-20 to extend the best-of-five match.
Kenora ended the comeback bid, however, with a 25-19 win in the fourth set.
Fort High will wrap up the regular season at home next week with games against Kenora (Nov. 2) and Dryden (Nov. 4).
The Muskies then will host the NorWOSSA playoffs Nov. 10.
Both volleyball teams will be in action this weekend with tournaments in Winnipeg.
