Muskies seeded fourth at OFSAA

The Muskie boys’ hockey team have been seeded fourth at the all-Ontarios next week in London.
The black-and-gold will open action next Wednesday (March 24) at 8:30 a.m. against the Orangeville Bears.
“It’s a pretty good draw,” said Muskie head coach Shane Bliss. “These are the top 20 teams in Ontario.”
The Muskies will play in Pool ‘D,’ which also includes the Leaside Lancers (Toronto), who the Muskies play next Wednesday afternoon; the Fr. John Redmond Redhawks (Etobicoke), who will face the Muskies on Thursday at 2:15 p.m.; and the returning champion Our Lady of Mount Carmel Crusaders (Mississauga), who are seeded fifth.
These two teams will meet Thursday at 8:30 p.m.
The top two teams in each pool will advance to the quarter-finals.
The top seed in the tournament is the St. Michael’s Double Blues (Toronto), who go in to the tournament with a record of 45-2-1.
“We played [St. Mike’s] in ‘86 and beat them, though that was many moons ago,” said Bliss.
The Muskies will hold two practices every day this week except Wednesday, when Bliss has scheduled a game against the Hopper’s Bruins—a team made up mostly of Muskies’ alumni, he said.
The game will start at 5:30 p.m. and Bliss said they hope to get some fans out to help the team raise some money to cover the expense of attending OFSAA.
No admission will be charged, but there will be a collection taken at the door for anybody who wants to contribute.
