Muskies sacked from playoffs

The Muskie football team’s season came to an end yesterday afternoon with a 37-0 loss to the Kelvin Clippers in the WHSFL quarter-finals.
Because the Muskies (0-7) finished last in the Kas Vidruk Division during the regular season, they had to face the first-place Clippers (6-1) in the opening round of the playoffs.
Despite yet another shutout, yesterday’s score was much closer than the 65-0 rout the black-and-gold had suffered at the hands of the Clippers during regular-season action here earlier this month.
Fort High may have shored up its defence to keep the score comparatively respectable, but their offence remained impotent—stretching their shutout streak to three games to end the season.
Meanwhile, the two remaining teams from Northwestern Ontario will begin their playoff runs this afternoon.
The Dryden Eagles (2-5) face St. Paul’s Crusaders #2 (5-2) at Canad Inns Stadium in Winnipeg while the Kenora Broncos (3-4) square off against the Sturgeon Heights Huskies (5-2) at East Side Eagles Field there.
The WHSFL playoffs wrap up Nov. 9.
