Muskies roll to win

The Muskie boys’ hockey team and the Kenora Broncos clashed in last season’s NorWOSSA final.
On Tuesday night, only one of them looked to be a serious finalist possibility for this season.
Graeme Kitt and Jarred Taylor each netted a pair of goals, and Dylan Ossachuk earned the shutout, as Fort High (2-0) rolled to an 8-0 shutout over the host Broncos (0-1).
The black-and-gold swept the Broncos in two hard-fought games in last season’s title series to claim their 34th NorWOSSA crown.
But there was little fight in the Kenora crew after a first period Tuesday, which saw them trail only 1-0 on Matt Cheetham’s marker.
The Muskie offence began to exert its dominance in the second period, with Sam Tibbs and Kitt each bulging the twine.
Then it got ugly for the home team in the third.
After Kitt made it 4-0, the Muskies connected four more time to seal the win.
Jarred Taylor lit the lamp twice before Brent Jourdain and Spencer Shortreed finished the onslaught.
The Muskies are back at it tonight when they host the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints of Kenora (1-1) at 7:15 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena.
