Muskies return to ice tonight

With the heat of final exams turned off for another semester, both Muskie hockey teams are looking forward to burning up the ice in Kenora tonight.
The boys’ squad (11-2) faces the top-ranked Broncos (13-1) in the first game of a crucial home-and-home series that ultimately should decide who takes first place in NorWOSSA and secures home ice advantage for the playoffs.
The teams have split their season series so far, with the Muskies taking a 5-4 overtime decision here Dec. 10 while Kenora returned the favour Jan. 10 with a 5-4 win up there.
The Muskies and Broncos will hook up again Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the ’52 Canadians Arena in their final meeting of the regular season.
Meanwhile, the Muskie girls (0-9), who saddled a different breed of Broncos in their last outing with a 3-1 exhibition victory over International Falls here Jan. 17, will try to upend a powerful Kenora squad (7-0-1) that has manhandled the black-and-gold in their four previous meetings.
Kenora will make a return visit Tuesday afternoon to the ’52 Canadians Arena for a 4 p.m. match-up with the Muskies.
