The Muskie girls’ soccer team failed to advance to the quarter-finals at the all-Ontarios in Sudbury after tying 14th-seeded Timmins High and Vocational School 1-1 in their final round-robin game this morning.
Hillary Morgan scored for the black-and-gold.
Fort High—seeded 11th—finished in third place in Pool ‘C’ with two points (0-1-2).
After losing 6-0 to third-seeded St. Mary’s in their first game yesterday morning, the squad battled back to tie sixth-ranked Jean Vanier Catholic High School 2-2 yesterday afternoon.
Kate Basaraba netted both Muskie goals.
St. Mary’s finished atop Pool ‘C’ with nine points (3-0) while Jean Vanier also advanced with four points. Timmins was last with one point (0-2-1).
In related news, fourth-seeded St. Ignatius (Thunder Bay) finished atop Pool ‘D’ with nine points (3-0) to advance to the quarter-finals this afternoon.
