The Muskie boys’ soccer team is off to a nice start at the OFSAA ‘AA’ championships in Windsor.
Fort High kicked off action in Pool ‘B’ at the 20-team tournament with a 2-2 draw against Father Bressani CHS (YRAA) this morning.
Cam Lidkea and James Gushulak netted the goals for the black-and-gold.
Making up the rest of Pool ‘B’ are Gordon Graydon Memorial SS (ROPSSAA 2), ÉSC L’Essor (SWOSSAA 2), and Holy Cross CSS (SOSSA).
The Muskies were slated to play Gordon Graydon Memorial SS this afternoon, with the outcome not known as of press time.
Then they’ll face Holy Cross CSS at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow before wrapping up pool play against ÉSC L’Essor at 1 p.m. (all times CDT).
The top two teams in each pool then will advance to the quarter-finals at 4:15 p.m. tomorrow.
The semi-finals are set for Saturday at 8 a.m.
The bronze-medal game will follow at noon, with the gold-medal match at 12:30 p.m.
Pool ‘A’ is comprised of Mother Teresa CSS (WOSSAA), Silverthorn CI (TDSSAA), Holy Trinity HS (GBSSA), ÉSC Thériault (NEOAA), and Corpus Christi CSS (GHAC 2).
Pool ‘C’ features ÉSC Franco Cité (NCSSAA), St. David CSS (CWOSSA), Kingston C&VI (EOSSAA), Monsignor Percy Johnson (TDCAA), and King’s Christian Collegiate (GHAC 1).
Pool ‘D’ is made up of Iona Catholic SS (ROPSSAA 1), St. Joseph-Scollard Hall CSS (NOSSA), Monsignor Paul Dwyer (LOSSA), Adam Scott C&VI (COSSA), and Essex DHS (SWOSSAA 1).
