Muskies net mixed results

Two members of the Muskie badminton team achieved mixed results on the opening day of the all-Ontario championships in Timmins yesterday.
Natalie Desjardins won her opening match against Shannon Galea (Lake Ontario Secondary School Association) in the ladies’ singles division.
But she then lost her second match to Carin Ho (Toronto District Secondary School Athletic Association), which relegated Desjardins to the “B” flight.
In the boys’ singles competition, meanwhile, Japanese exchange student Akira Kikkawa lost his opening match yesterday to Joseph Rogers (National Capital Secondary School Athletic Association).
And Kikkawa didn’t fare any better in the “B” flight, falling to Daryl Lee (Toronto District Catholic Athletic Association).
Action continues today before wrapping up Saturday.
