Playing in the “Fish Tank” wasn’t much of an advantage for the Muskie court teams last Thursday against the Kenora Broncos.
The lone bright spot was the junior girls’ basketball team, which improved to 3-0 in NorWOSSA play with a 67-39 victory.
It was a different story for the senior girls’ squad, however, as they fell 42-34 to the Broncos to remain winless in league action (0-3).
Meanwhile, both boys’ volleyball teams came out on the losing end of their matches against Kenora.
The seniors (1-2) lost 3-1 in their best-of-five showdown while the juniors (2-1) were edged 3-2 to suffer their first loss of the season.
The Muskies were coming off a split against the Dryden Eagles here last Tuesday (Sept. 26).
In girls’ basketball, the juniors won 42-30 while the seniors were beaten by that same score.
Boys’ volleyball saw the juniors earn a 3-1 win (25-21, 25-22, 22-25, and 25-18) while the seniors were swept by the Eagles (25-23, 25-17, and 25-11).
All four Muskie teams resumed NorWOSSA action yesterday in Dryden (scores unavailable at press time).
