It was a tough day for the Muskie court sport teams on Tuesday.
Three of the four squads suffered losses against the visiting Dryden Eagles in NorWOSSA action at Fort High.
The senior girls’ basketball team was the lone Muskie squad to come out victorious, scrapping out a 45-36 decision to improve their league record to 5-1.
Grace Petsnick scored a team-high 17 points to pace the Muskies, who led the Eagles (4-1) 19-17 at halftime.
Alina Eldridge chipped in with eight points while Aurora Hutton and Keisha DeBungie both added six.
Jamie Spencer and Rachel Anderson both potted four points to round out the offence.
The juniors, meanwhile, suffered their first loss of the season with a 26-18 loss to the Eagles (4-1).
Ayiana Gagne led the Muskies (5-1) in scoring for the second game in a row with six points.
Grace Smith added four points while Serena Teeple, Anna Gagne, Heaven States, and Joyce Wu each scored a basket.
In boys’ volleyball action, meanwhile, the Muskie juniors saw their record fall to 3-3 with a 2-1 loss to Dryden (2-3).
The set scores were 20-25, 25-20, and 23-25.
As for the seniors, they dropped to 1-5 on the year also with a 2-1 loss to the Eagles (4-1).
After winning a back-and-forth first set 25-23, the Muskies lost the next two sets by scores of 25-11 and 25-23.
All four Muskie court sport teams will resume NorWOSSA action next Wednesday (Oct. 16) when they head to Kenora to take on the Broncos.
