Muskies ice visiting Kenora

Both Muskie hockey teams extended their respective leads atop the NorWOSSA standings with victories over the visiting Kenora Broncos on Tuesday night.
The Muskie girls (5-2-0-0) won a penalty-filled 3-2 battle over Kenora (2-4-0-1).
Anikka McTavish, Lauren Krukoski, and Nina Bird were the Muskie goal scorers in a match that saw 17 minor penalties split between the two teams.
Also winning here Tuesday were the nigh-unstoppable Muskie boys (8-0-0-0), who blanked the last-place Broncos (1-6-0-0) by a 5-0 margin.
The boys maintained their utter dominance of NorWOSSA with another lopsided victory, and have outscored their opponents 49-8 in league play so far this season.
The squad now heads to Winnipeg for a tournament this weekend before resuming NorWOSSA action on Tuesday in Dryden against the second-place Eagles (4-3-0-0).
The Muskie girls, meanwhile, have a pair of exhibition matches, meeting the Lake of the Woods Bears tonight in Rainy River before hosting the Eveleth Golden Bears on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the ’52 Canadians Arena.
They’ll resume NorWOSSA action here Tuesday versus the Dryden Eagles (3-2-0-1), with the puck dropping at 7:15 p.m. in the Ice for Kids Arena.
