Muskies hosting Eagles

The four Muskie court sport teams will be looking to wrap up the NorWOSSA regular season on a positive note today when they host the Dryden Eagles starting at 3:30 p.m.
Today’s games are the black-and-gold’s final chance to prepare for the NorWOSSA championships coming up Nov. 10 in Kenora.
The Muskies are coming off a disappointing performance in Kenora on Tuesday in which all four teams lost to the host Broncos.
The junior girls’ basketball team fell 20-17—only their second defeat of the season. Ashlee Nordstrom and Lauren Gurski led the Muskies with six points each.
Despite an excellent defensive effort, the senior girls’ squad were beaten 27-21 by the Broncos.
Alyssa Holliday was the black-and-gold’s top scorer with 10 points, with Emily Haggberg chipping in seven.
On the volleyball court, the junior boys’ team lost a hard-fought, four-set match by scores of 24-26, 17-25, 25-22, and 24-26.
Serving was a key factor in the loss as the Muskies’ struggled to find consistency in the three sets they dropped.
Meanwhile, the senior boys’ team was dominated by the Broncos, losing in three-straight sets (25-14, 25-9, and 25-8).
The senior Muskies are struggling to overcome a rash of injuries and the loss of some players due to academic issues.
