Muskies golfers bring home medals


The NorWOSSA boys and girls high school golf season has wrapped up for the season, with the Fort Frances Girls winning their league, and the Boys team bringing home silver.

In Girls’ play, Maddy Bliss placed first, Marlee Bliss second and Ella Evans placed third, to win all three medals. All are from Fort Frances High School.

In the Boys’ league, St Thomas Aquinas High School boys took first with 27 points, Fort Frances High School took second place with 22 points and Dryden High School came in third with 12 points.

In the Boys’ individual season, Emerson Evans and Jaxon Savage, both of St. Thomas Aquinas tied for first, Ashton Barnes of Fort Frances won silver and Carson Maffey of St Thomas Aquinas placed third.

In the last match of the season, the Fort Frances boys team took first place with a score of 351, St Thomas Aquinas came in second place with a score of 354, in third place was Rainy River with a score of 359. Jaxon Savage from St Thomas Aquinas High School finished the day in first with a score 76, Brady White from Rainy River finished second with a score of 77 and Liam Johnson from Beaver Brea finished 3rd with a score of 79.

Because of COVID-19, the OFSAA golf championships will not be taking place this year.
