Muskies go winless at OFSAA

The Muskie senior girls’ volleyball team gave it their all but ultimately came away from the all-Ontario championship in Dryden earlier this week winless in four tries.
Their final loss was a 25-18 and 25-13 sweep at the hands of Penetanguishene on Wednesday morning.
“The girls did play a very aggressive game,” said Muskie head coach Duane Roen. “We hit at them, but they would just dig everything up that we did hit.”
Although going 0-4 to finish last in their pool was disappointing to the team and Roen, he said it still was a very beneficial experience.
“What I like about the tournament is now we know how to compete at OFSAA,” he remarked. “There was some stiff competition but, to be honest, the other teams weren’t that much better than we were.
“I’m hoping now that when the girls mature next year that we’ll be able to compete.”
As previously reported, the Muskies had opened action last Tuesday morning with a 25-12, 25-20 loss to Lo-Ellen Park.
They lost 25-14 and 26-24 to Kingsville on Tuesday afternoon, then fell 25-23 and 25-16 to Embrun that night.
