Muskies get rough treatment in Winnipeg

The Muskie boys’ hockey team got off to a poor start at the Tournament of Champions in Winnipeg yesterday, losing both their games by large margins to sit at 0-2 in pool play.
Defending champion Silver Heights Huskies (Winnipeg) first blanked the Muskies 9-0 and then the King’s Edgehill (Nova Scotia) skated to a 10-1 victory later that day.
The black-and-gold played the Kelvin Clippers this afternoon (the outcome was not available by press time) and then will meet the Morden Mohawks tonight to wrap up pool play at the 10-team tournament.
Also competing are Notre Dame (Saskatchewan) and Manitoba’s River East, John Taylor Pipers, and Carman Cougars.
The Muskies next see action Tuesday (Jan. 8) when they host the Baudette Bears in an exhibition game at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice for Kids Arena.
