Muskies Football

Friday in Winnipeg, the Fort Frances Muskies won their second game in a row with a convincing 66 – 12 win over the St. John’s Tigers.

The Black and Gold defense shut down St. John’s and consistently gave the Muskie offense the ball on the St. John’s side of the field.

The Muskies scored on the third play of the game on a 15-yard touchdown run by Kel Cameron. Hayden Beckett returned a St. John’s punt for a major and an interception for a touchdown and kicked three converts to give the Muskies a 21 – 0 lead early in the first quarter.

The Muskies extended their lead to 56 – 6 at halftime. Running backs Blake Kreger scored 3 touchdowns, Kel Cameron scored twice and Fullback Jaxon Strachan scored on pass from quarterback Parker Booth. The Muskies also got touchdowns from Senior receivers Kaleb Richards and Fletcher Klug (Kloog).

The win gives the Muskies a record of to wins against three losses in the Winnipeg High School Football League. The Muskies travel to Winnipeg this Friday to take on undefeated Kildonan East.
