Muskies fall short of OFSAA

The season officially has come to a close for the Muskie golf team.
Neither Aiden Wielinga nor Mikel Ward were able to qualify for OFSAA at the NWOSSAA championships held Tuesday at Kitchen Creek.
Ward carded a 93 while Wielinga shot a 107 to finish 20th and 36th, respectively, in the individual boys’ competition at NWOSSAA.
Devin Lawson of the St. Ignatius Falcons (Thunder Bay) nabbed gold by shooting a 75.
Nodin Carlson of the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints (Kenora) and Matthew Cho-Chu (Falcons) finished tied for the silver with a 76 to round out the contingent that advanced to OFSAA.
In the team competition, meanwhile, St. Ignatius finished first, with St. Thomas Aquinas placing second and the Sioux Lookout Warriors winding up in third.
The all-Ontarios will be held Oct. 10-11 in Oshawa.
