Muskies drop another to Bears

Despite the temporary addition of three Tagg’s Bantam ‘AA’ players in their lineup, the Muskie boys’ hockey team dropped a 5-1 exhibition game to the Baudette Bears here last night.
Tagg’s centre Jamie Davis netted the black-and-gold’s lone goal off a drive from the face-off circle in the second period to narrow the gap to 3-1.
But the Bears held the Muskies in check the rest of the way while adding a pair of third-period goals.
Davis was joined by fellow Bantams Dan McIntyre and Tanner Kaemingh to help shore up the Muskie lineup. Head coach Glen Edwards said the move was temporary.
The loss dropped Fort High’s exhibition record to 1-4. They are 1-5-1 in NorWOSSA play.
The black-and-gold were coming off a winless performance at the Tournament of Champions in Winnipeg last weekend, losing to Silver Heights (9-0), Nova Scotia’s King Edgehill (10-1), Morden (8-2), and Kelvin (7-0).
Terry Kellar scored twice over the weekend while Jon Woodgate added a single to account for the Muskies’ only offence.
