The Muskie badminton players competing at the all-Ontarios in Ajax last week all saw their action end in the ‘B’ flight.
The mixed doubles team of Jason Pattison and Natalie Desjardins lost in the quarter-finals while Simone Desjardins was eliminated one round earlier in senior girls’ singles action.
The ‘B’ flight loss to B. Durdan (SOSSA) by scores of 15-10 and 15-6 was an improvement for Desjardins, who had won a bronze medal in the ‘C’ flight in a previous OFSAA appearance.
Pattison and Desjardins won their first match in the ‘B’ flight by scores of 15-7 and 15-4 against the brother-and-sister team of J. Trinh and S. Trinh (ROPSSAA).
Then they took M. Gereghty and R. Mehta (NEOAA) the distant in the quarter-finals, losing the best-of-three affair by scores of 4-15, 15-9, and 12-15.
After winning her first two matches Thursday, Desjardins dropped down to the ‘B’ flight with a 15-3, 15-4 loss to V. Tam (NCSSAA), who went on to the ‘A’ flight semi-finals before being eliminated.
The team of H. Dugan and L. Parkes (WOSSAA), who had knocked Pattison and Desjardins down to the ‘B’ flight, also made it all the way to the ‘A’ semi-finals before bowing out.
